Well that was interesting! L, C and I went to Loop to celebrate D’s 30th birthday, it turns out he’d booked a booth on the lower floor which just happens to be “Groovy Wonderland”. I was in heaven, I love cheesy 70’s and 80’s music (it’s one of my guilty pleasures) and I haven’t been dancing in ages (I couldn’t really dance on Friday night as there was no room!). I decided to wear this dress as it’s one of my very favourites….

Dress: Wheels & Dollbaby
Belt: Warehouse
Tights: Boots
Boots: Nine West
Jewellery: Mum brought all the bangles back from Saudi for me

I love this dress, it always draws a few comments and sometimes compliments, one guy asked why I was so morbid wearing skulls and another one said it looked awesome. I wish I’d worn something sleeveless however as it was boiling in the club but I now know for next time, and there will be a next time!

I also met a rather handsome chap, he and his friends were dancing near us and he caught my eye. A few smiles were exchanged and after a while I thought “sod it” so I went over and asked if I could buy him a drink, he said yes and I am now the proud owner of Blue Eyed Guys phone number, he texted this afternoon to ask if I’d like to go out on a date!

Do you guys have any guilty pleasures? Also would you approach someone you liked or would you wait for them to come to you?

Lots of Love

  • i totally dig the skulls, negative guy can screwball off, he's probably just jealous because he can't wear the skull dress πŸ˜‰

oooo blue eye guy? you should take sneak pictures of these guys and show us πŸ˜‰ like a detective. or just say "stand still please" and take a polaroid.

    xxx

  • I love the nicknames you give to men! I'm a fan of blue eyes so I like Blue Eyed Guy already! I used to be terrified of approaching guys but life's too short. At the end of the day if they say no they say no, it's not the end of the world.

I love the dress – some people just don't understand fashion *sigh*

  • I agree with the previous comment .. love the nicknames you give men! Before I started going out with my bf, I never had the courage to approach a guy. So I'll never know!

  • @ Voodle I think you're right he didn't look like he'd have the legs for a short dress!
Ha! I can just see it now "Could you hold still and smile please? What's is for? Why, my blog of course! Say cheese!" x

@ Blah Blah Becky I love love love blue eyes and Blue Eyed Guy has amazing eyes, yey! I agree with you life is way to short and I'd rather regret the things I've tried than the things I wished I done! x

@ My Republic Of Fashion Thank you Lovely x

@ Gertrude Thank you Hunnie, it's nice that you don't need to find out πŸ™‚ X

  • Hola my lovely!

The dress is stunning, very McQueen. Why do men think they can make fun at girls outfits? You don't look morbid at all! I also love the nicknames you give to guys and I'm so chuffed that you asked for his number.

You'll have to let us know how it goes!

    xXx

  • Wow the dress is lush! I love the shape and fit of it <3
I have a terrible guilty pleasure for S Club 7! Loved them when I was kid, probably love them more now! But keep it on the down low, I don't want it to ruin my street cred πŸ˜‰

    Rhii xx

  • Skulls aren't alwayys morbid, look at what McQueen created with his skull scarf! Men have no idea when it comes to fashion: FACT.

Can't believe you approached a guy and bought him a drink! Go you! I'd love to be that confident! Well I wouldn't go about buying guys drinks, my boyfriend might get a bit miffed. Ha.

    Fingers crossed for your date!

  • Oh, I love dancing to 70's and 80's music too. Most people don't dance here, they just stand holding their drink and feeling very sure about themselves (my guess is they can't dance!). That's why I mostly go to latin clubs and dance with gorgeous latin guys!
I'm so glad you met someone, I hope he turns out to be nice. I don't usually make the first move because I'm a traditional girl and prefer the man to be the hunter. If only men would "hunt" in this country!!! xxx

  • oooh i used to go to Reflex/Flares which was all 70's and 80's! Unfortunately it was also all sticky floors and scary looking people so not really a place to be seen πŸ™‚

  • @ The Dandizette Hola Chica πŸ™‚ I have no idea why people feel the need to comment negatively on anything, if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all! Will keep you updated on Blue Eyed Guy x

@ Rhiiwn Thank you Lovely, I wish I'd bought a few of the other colourways they did but I keep scouring eBay for them so who knows! x

@ Pookie They have no idea at all bless them! I figured I had nothing to lose and he had been smiling at me (plus a few vodkas under my belt) so I thought why not! Yup probably shouldn't be offering to buy drinks for fellas that aren't your boyf πŸ˜‰ X

@ Arietta Mmmmm gorgeous Latin guys…. I usually prefer guys to make the first move too but it just didn't seem to be happening that night so I took the proverbial bull by the horns! x

@ Vicki Thank you Lovely x

@ Maebell Hello and thank you for dropping by! x

@ Lovedfromthestart Thank you Hunnie, yup can't hurt to start a conversation if they don't seem to have the courage to do it πŸ˜‰ x

    @ Claudia Thank you πŸ™‚ x

@ Mummy Possom There were actually lots of very cute boys there (Blue Eyed Guy is 25!) and not a sticky floor in sight! They actually had one of those checker board light up dancefloors πŸ™‚ I shall have to take you and LBB when you come down x
